Causes of Acne Vulgaris

Acne is a household problem the world over. Acne vulgaris is the most common type of acne, which is a condition that mainly affects teenagers. Studies suggest that it is affecting at least 85% cent of adolescents in the US. This is, however, not just for the young people to worry about, it may persist or even become more severe in adulthood.

This problem affects those areas of skin that are overpopulated with sebaceous follicles. The major destinations include the face, the upper chest, and the back. Although men and women both suffer from acne vulgaris, it has a sex preference for males over females. The early signs are tendering of the skin where the effect takes place.

The main cause is genetic factors. Hence, it can be said that this condition is unavoidable. This is true in some sense, but in fairness, we can look at the things that trigger this condition and make it to flourish. The things that trigger acne vulgaris include diets that are high on fat and low in fiber, some foods like chocolates, nuts, colas, and foods high on carbohydrates. Apart from them, stress whether physical or mental can be a cause for it. Acne vulgaris has the potential to cause significant psychiatric and psychological complications while negatively affecting the quality of life because of the scarring it leaves. It is important that it should be dealt with positively.
