Causes Of Teenage Acne

Causes Of Teenage Acne

Acne is the most common skin disorder among the teenagers. This is because a major cause of acne is hormonal change, which takes place during this phase of a person’s life when they are crossing over from adolescence to adulthood. An occurrence of this problem at this stage could be extremely taxing for the person suffering. As it a vulnerable stage and looking good in that point in life is at a priority more then any other stage in the lifetime.

Parents have to play an important role in this point of time because the nature of the teenager is very volatile. Giving the child confidence and making them face their fears would help them not only to tackle the problem at hand but also making them a stronger person in the process.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, almost every teenager develops whitehead, blackhead or pimples, which are called non-inflammatory acne. Further the reports of this academy elaborate that boys are more likely than girls to have severe, longer lasting problems when it comes to acne this is because they produce 10 times as much androgen as their opposite sex.

Certain studies suggest that acne is caused by stress, unhealthy diet habits and poor hygiene. This can not be confirmed as these results are unsatisfactory and they vary from person to person. No one knows exactly what causes acne but it is believed that it occurs due to hormonal imbalance or sexual over activity. Some researchers have also come up with reports that suggest that the use of refined grain and sugar in some bread can cause high levels of insulin. Therefore, eating too much bread may trigger acne in teenagers.
